You’ve got WordPress installed and you are ready to rock. Now you just need a theme. So how do we find one?

The first option with thousands of free WordPress themes available and ready to choose from, is the WordPress themes repository. Visit the main WordPress website where you can find a broad selection: https://wordpress.org/themes/

There are thousands of different styles with different layouts, colours and features. If you have a specific layout in mind or colour, modify your search settings and you’ll find tailored results. This will help save you time finding the right theme. Be sure to check out featured themes and popular themes. There are lots on offer, it’s a good way to find some great themes quickly! It’s also a great place for plugins.

If you would like a more advanced theme, many choose to visit ThemeForest.

Themeforest has over 5,000 premium WordPress themes ranging from corporate blog themes, creative, e-commerce, education, real estate and more.

Firstly, you’ll need to create an account on themeforest. Once you’ve done that you can browse thousands of themes. If you have a specific style in mind, you can also select the categories and appropriate features that you are looking for. It’s advisable to check any themes that catch your eye. You’ll need a theme that is still being maintained and is compatible with the latest version of WordPress. Most of the themes will be maintained and updated accordingly with each release. Occasionally, there are themes that have stop being actively developed, so bare that in mind.

It’s a safer bet to choose a theme with good feedback, reviews and a good history of fixes, updates and bug squashes.
